WIZwireless Limited is an internet service provider company based in Masterton providing rural broadband throughout Wairarapa and parts of Tararua and Hutt.
We are a specialist terrestrial wireless internet company, particularly installing and servicing local radio equipment, and the network infrastructure environments within Wairarapa and up to Akitio in Tararua.

This is a key role within our company and therefore requires someone with excellent communication and customer service skills, technical aptitude along with and a problem solving mindset, so you could be who we are looking for.
This job has a mix of desk work including monitoring the network infrastructure, diagnosing and remedying, configuring network and terrestrial wireless radio equipment and being a wireless installer enjoying the outdoors and meeting our customers.
The primary focus of this role is to provide Network and Infrastructure support services for WIZwireless and the various installations for our customers. The main emphasis is on incident and change resolution as well as some project based work such as server builds, local wireless broadband networks and diagnosis.
You will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of all areas of the network and need to have proven experience in Linux servers, Network Support including terrestrial wireless, firewall and switching and ability to configure various wireless networking equipment including Trango, Ubiquiti NanoStation and good knowledge of various MikroTik routers.
You will also be working with 3rd party suppliers for various broadband projects to design, build, support and provide maintenance.
Flexible working hours are an essential part of the role as telecommunication is deemed to be an essential service in New Zealand. Therefore, participation in weekend and night stand-by rosters is part of the job requirement.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit and you need to be prepared to move to the Wairarapa as we need someone who is within a short distance of our network NOC and within 30 minutes of any of our rural radio masts
TASKS INCLUDE:
Assist in the development of WIZwireless 2-3 year network plan
Contribute to development of standard best practice procedures for system and network maintenance and operations
Problem resolution such as taking part in technical recovery for major incidents
Configure and install terrestrial wireless radio equipment at the customers and anywhere on the network including cable runs
Monitor all network and customer radio equipment, identify any faults quickly and remedy
Take customer support calls and provide solutions for them
Initial sales inquires, preparing and processing data for customer installs
Updating various admin systems including maintaining client database, online technical and network systems
Prepare budgets for customer and network upgrades
Preparing end of month technical reports for team meetings and/or Directors
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
Telecommunication trade certificate or equivalent training certificate that includes a minimum of 3 years on the job experience working on outside installations and specifically house cable maintenance
Be familiar with and preferably have experience working on local or similar overseas telecommunications networks
Have proven experience in configuring various wireless networking equipment Trango, Ubiquiti NanoStation and good knowledge of various MikroTik routers
Have a good head for numbers
Be proactive and able to problem solve
An eye for detail and high levels of accuracy
Have good vision (not colour blind or have difficulty reading small writing in low light conditions)
Have a clean Class 1 drivers license
Happy to work outdoors and in all weather
Not afraid of heights nor small spaces
Be a good communicator and must be fluent in verbal and written English
Competent in MS Office, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
Have an interest in telecommunications networks and related technologies and want to learn and be prepared to learn new technologies
Have a good eye for detail and take pride in your work

Are you looking for short term contract work or part time work? We seek an intermediate level administration and customer support person to join our small dynamic team on a short term contract. You will be responsible for managing the company's day to day accounts, daily administration of the company and will provide general support to our technical staff, while working with our clients as a part of our team.
The role is primarily accounts and data entry work to cover for a staff member who is away overseas for 6 weeks. There is also the option for this job to develop into a part time role at the end of the short term contract.
TASKS INCLUDE:
Reception duties including welcoming clients and providing initial customer support
Accounts processing including debtor and creditor invoice processing, processing of debits and credits, bank reconciliation, preparing direct credit payments, reporting and related filing and updating; including all IRD filing requirements
Preparing and processing data for staff payrolls
Initial sales inquires, preparing and processing data for customer installs
Updating various admin systems including maintaining client database, online technical and network systems
Managing office, customer and network supplies
Preparing end of month financial reports for team meetings and Directors
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
At least 3 years in a financial accounting role
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Excellent time management skills along with the ability to multi-task
Have proven experience in MoneyWorks (Cognito accounting software) and good knowledge of Cashmanager Rural accounting software (CRS Software Ltd) and IMS Payroll
Competent in MS Office, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook

Some current computer operating system and network knowledge would be an advantage.
You will have experience in the preparation of monthly financial statements and have an understanding of the source documentation required. In addition, you will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and information technology capability. You will have a flair for working with numbers, and your work will be numerically accurate. In addition, you will have a genuine desire to meet our high standards of customer service, to develop and maintain systems to better deliver accurate information. Initiative and flexibility are essential.
You will be able to build effective working relationships at all levels of our organisation, and with our external providers. This is a position for 20 to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 2pm (or 3pm), ie four to five hours per day preferred but negotiable. These hours do include school holidays.
